The South Ayrshire Charitable Trust has been set up to assist and improve the lives of South Ayrshire residents who are in need because of poverty, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage. The available funding is split geographically.
What funding is available?
The South Ayrshire Charitable Trust has funding available to help tackle poverty and assist those in need. The funds are split geographically:
- Applicants in ward 8 - Girvan & South Carrick can apply for up to £1000
Who can apply for funding?
Funding is available to groups, organisations and individuals provided they can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the trustees that the funding will be used to help those in need living in South Ayrshire.
For Individual applications:
- You are required to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the trustees that the grant is for a specific service/item and not to supplement state benefit income.
- You must provide evidence supporting your application that demonstrates that you need the service/ item sought, i.e. a letter of support from a GP, consultant, social worker or aid worker and evidence of costs
- You must demonstrate that you cannot obtain funding for the service/item from other sources such as the Scottish Welfare Fund or state benefits.
- You must advise if you have made an application to the Scottish Welfare Fund and the outcome.
- You must confirm that you have sought advice from South Ayrshire Council Information and Advice Team (0300 123 0900) on benefit maximisation and other sources of support and advise of the outcome of that advice
