CB8 Bus Service Girvan Harbour to Barr Via Community Hospital
A collaborative community launch
Inaugurated on May 30, 2017, the CB8 bus route is the result of a successful partnership between SPT (Community), Leader, South Ayrshire Council, the Barr Community Council, and the North Carrick Community Benefit Company.
Restoring local connectivity
The introduction of the "Barr Bus" marked a significant milestone, providing the first scheduled transport service the area has seen in more than 15 years. The service currently runs four days a week, with five scheduled trips per day.
Flexible boarding and route information
While there are fixed stops located in both Barr and Girvan, the CB8 also functions as a "hail and ride" service. This means that in areas without designated bus stops, passengers can simply signal the driver to board.
Travelling with animals
Service and emotional support animals are welcome on the CB8 free of charge. To ensure a safe environment for everyone on board, owners must use a transport harness for their animals at all times.
