Come Along For Your Free Health Check!
Take part in this upcoming Community Health Event. 🩺
In partnership with NHS Ayrshire & Arran, South Ayrshire Health & Social Care Partnership, the Pumping Marvellous Foundation, and the Girvan & South Carrick Locality Planning Partnership, a free health day for local residents will be held on Saturday, 4th October 2025.
From 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at Girvan Community Hospital, their dedicated team of doctors and nurses will be offering free health screenings. Pumping Marvellous—the UK’s leading patient-led heart failure charity—will also be present to provide guidance and support.

Event organiser Gaynor Campbell, Senior Cardiology ANP, shares:
"This event is open to all adults in Girvan & South Carrick and we would encourage everyone to come along – no appointment required.
We will be carrying out heart rhythm checks to assess for new atrial fibrillation (irregular heart rhythm), high blood pressure checks and for those with certain symptoms a simple finger prick blood test to measure a heart hormone level for new suspected heart failure.
For the vast majority of people, it will provide them with reassurance that they have had a heart check-up.
If any follow up is required we will arrange for that to take place at Girvan Community Hospital and letters will be provided on the day for people to give to their GPs, if needed."
The event will also provide an opportunity for all local residents to learn CPR and gain information and knowledge from a variety of health & wellbeing services and charities.
A limited free bus service to and from the hospital is running.
