The beacon will now be situated on the Memorial park, facing the school & this will enable people attending the disco that night, to go out and watch teh beacon lighting at 21:45.

The beacon is kindly sponsored and arranged by John Dalrymple Hamilton, who is the Vice Lord Lieutenant of Ayrshire, which appropriate as one of the representatives of the Queen in Ayrshire and a member of the family that presented the Memorial Park to the community.

The beacon will be one of over 3,000 which will be lit over the whole of the UK & more will be lit in the Commonwealth, celebrating the 70 years of the Queen’s reign.
