# Essential Bridge Refurbishments on the A77 in Ballantrae

Amey, on behalf of Transport Scotland, is undertaking essential bridge refurbishments on the A77 in Ballantrae from **Tuesday 26th May** until **Friday 18th December 2026** under continuous 24-hour temporary traffic lights. 

**This is the second phase of the refurbishment works following the Phase 1 works carried out between September 2024 – March 2025.**

There will also be a weight restriction imposed on the structure of up to 80 tonnes between 10th June – 2nd August. 

Full closures of the A77 between Shallochpark Roundabout and Innermessan will be required on the nights of **Wednesday 15th July, Monday 27th July, Monday 3rd August, Monday 14th September, Wednesday 30th September** and **Friday 16th October 2026.**

- Southbound traffic will be diverted via the A714, Wigtown Road Junction, the A75 westbound and the A751 northbound, where they will be able to re-join the A77 southbound.
- Northbound traffic will take the above diversion route in reverse.

Local access will be maintained during the full closures. 

**Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout these works.** 

Please note that all schemes are weather-dependent and may be cancelled or rescheduled if weather conditions are not favourable.
